Hello, I'm Renata, a self-taught artist inspired by the whimsical beauty of nature and my experiences as a mom. Through my daily drawing practice, I create a magical world that reflects my love for the outdoors and the joy of storytelling.
Growing up in rural Transylvania, I developed a deep love for nature that shines through in my art today. Now, I live with my family in a cosy little town in the heart of the Lake District National Park, in the UK, surrounded by lakes and forests. As a mom of two little boys, I’m all about magical moments for them and sharing my love for nature. We also enjoy reading together and going for exploring walks in the great outdoors as much as possible.
At the University I studied art history and Theatre history, playwriting. I've been a bookworm ever since I can remember and I've been always drawing since I was little, but I have never studied it in a conventional setting. Painting is my way to create a world that I see inside my head, to create a world I want to see. Painting and drawing is my safe place. When I was 7 year old I ended up in hospital for two weeks with heart problems and drawing every day was the only thing that kept me going, and I made many friends through drawing daily and I recovered.
In lockdown when everything slowed down I started drawing and painting again, because it kept me focused and helped me heal, kept me feeling safe.
I hope when you look around my pages you will find something that you like, maybe something that makes you happy.

In 2020 October I started to share my art on Instagram where I am very active and I post daily in my stories, so you can follow my daily art process and connect. Have a look here

welcome to my little creative corner
I always love to see where other artists create and the art supplies they use. I find the little details tell more about them then any words.
My little creative space just happens to be the corner of our living room in front of the window, so I see the sky if I look out and I get a lot of natural light. I also get to be around the kids even if I'm working on something. And they love to see what I'm painting next, sometimes they even give me suggestions.
What you don't see in this picture is that this table almost never looks this empty and tidy. I also always have a big tea pot of herbal tea on it and some mugs, with tea and coffee, and water. A candle burning in one of the corners smelling like Levander fields. And lots of paint, and brushes, pencils and paper snippets everywhere.

trinkets and snippets
Over the past 4 years I filled up quite a few sketchbooks, all shapes and sizes and collected art suplies as I love to create with mixed media, and constantly learn new techniques, try new things and just have fun with it.
a few more things
about me
-
My first love is watercolours, but I also love using gouache, neo pastels, coloured pencils, markers, ink
-
I love to create my own tiny palettes filling up empty make up palettes, blush dispensers, tin boxes, cigarette holders, business card holder. I don't like to waste anything and I like to give new purpose for cute little things that I don't use anymore.

Some completely unnecessary, random facts about me:
-
I love music and singing, I've been singing in a choir for more then ten years, so traveling with me is kind of loud. I often sing/listen to music when I paint too and never stop humming. Yes, I'm that person
-
I love good smells, so I have a small collection of candles around my house, I also love to put them in tiny candle holders that look like houses, or mushrooms, or anything cosy and cute, but mostly houses.
-
I am a book lover and always read at least two three books simultaneously depending on my mood and level of tiredness. We also read every day together with my kids, they love books too.
-
My all time favourite TV shows will always be Friends and Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy.
-
All time favourite movie has to be You've Got Mail/ The Holiday(can't pick one or the other). I've got so many...I love movies, but as you can see heavily gravitating towards comedies and rom coms.
-
I also have a sarcastic dry sense of humour and I'm not afraid to use it (definitely a Lorelai)
-
When I'm not listening to music I love to listen to podcasts about art, art business, life coaching, environmental issues, psychology
